There are tournaments in progress 24 hours a day at our site. Tournaments are made up of the same structures as seen at other online poker rooms. There are a big number of different tournament options to appeal to all tastes.
Single-table Tournaments
Single-table tournament are just what they sound like. The tournament involves one table of players and ends with a cash prize for the last player standing (or last 2-3 in some cases).
Freeroll Tournaments
Freerolls are tournaments that are FREE to enter on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no buy-in or entry fee to play, and there is usually a cash prize for the winner. Freerolls are also available where the winner will win an entry to one of our larger cash prize multi-stage tournaments.
Sit 'n Go Tournaments
Sit 'n Go is a term used to describe a tournament that begins the moment all seats at a table are filled, instead of following a preset schedule. All single-table and freeroll tournaments are Sit and Go tournaments. Additionally, the first stages of most multi-table tournaments begin as Sit 'n Go.
Multi-stage Tournaments
Just like the name suggests, these tournaments start with many tables where the winners of each combine to play at the next level. After a determined amount of stages, the final players combine on a championship table, where the top player(s) win a cash prize or entry into a larger tournament.
Satellite Tournaments
Satellites are tournaments, usually multi-stage, where the winner wins an entry into a larger prize tournament. For example, we host multi-stage tournaments where the winner will win an expense paid trip to play in an offline World Poker Tour tournament. Our satellite tournaments are announced in our newsletters.
Collapsible Tournaments
Collapsible tournaments are tournaments with more than 10 players and multiple tables running concurrently. As players are eliminated, tables merge. This continues to happen until only 1 table remains, and ultimately finishes when 1 player holds all of the chips.
Each player begins the tournament with the exact same amount of chips. There are both Limit and No Limit Hold’em collapsible tournaments. When one player has all of the chips the prizes are awarded according to the prize payout for that particular tournament.
